GINCO ORGANIZATION

As a collective of independent developers and enthusiasts, we realize our ideals of innovation and tradition in Momentum I. For each series, we seek an exquisite, independent manufactory as a production partner—a tribute to craftsmanship—and are proud to present this debut in collaboration with Atelier Felipe Pikullik.

MOMENTUM I

Front Dial

The circuit-like Roman numeral pattern engraved into the sapphire dial embodies our anachronistic brand philosophy. The symbiosis of tradition and innovation manifests through the time-honored finissage of the Felipe Pikullik manufactory, meeting cutting edge Technology.

Case

Crafted from the same platinum-iridium alloy as the International Prototype Kilogram, the case thus preserves traditional craftsmanship and innovation for generations to come.

Deceleration Dial

By lessening the relentless precision of time tracking, you amplify the power of the present moment—the true Momentum.

Suspended above the perfect finissage, a classic "timer triangle" subtly indicates the minute on the rotatable bezel. Simultaneously, the seconds manifest as a captivating, futuristic glow, like electric lights from antiquity, gently adorning the inner periphery.

TODAY, WATCHES TELL TIME, LIKE  A STORY FROM A BYGONE ERA. WE AIM TO CONTINUE THAT STORY, NOT MERELY RETELL IT.

No matter how paramount the precision of a movement—particularly its oscillating system and escapement is—ultimately, the hands tell the time. It's a remarkable paradox that even the most precise timepieces are equipped with second hands whose perfect synchronization is never achieved by conventional setting mechanisms.

A watch is only as precise as its display. Typically, the second hand offers merely an approximate measure, as its factory-set alignment is lost even during the very first time setting. Our solution ensures absolute accuracy: every adjustment automatically guides the hands into their perfect position with a pleasing click. Their correct orientation is simply unalterable.

A Paradox of Precision

Perpetual Drive

We've fundamentally re-engineered the watch's architecture. By replacing the conventional hand friction mechanism with a complex planetary gear system, every single gear remains perpetually engaged. This profound transformation dramatically enhances the watch's longevity.

Intersecond Dial

This innovative 100th-second display offers spectacular clarity. Powered by a captivating moiré effect, its indication seamlessly sweeps across the dial every second, uniquely visualizing time's subtle flow. This level of detail only gains its true significance through AutoAlign, for what relevance would a 100th-second display hold if even the second itself isn't precisely rendered?

Philosophy

"Two things can never occupy the same space at the same time." From this simple fact, and the sheer form and arrangement of gears, bridges, and levers, the watch's hand movement emerges, ultimately mirroring the celestial motion of the sun with precision.

The design and arrangement of these components dictate the watch's operation—like commands within an ancient programming language. If the antique Antikythera Mechanism is hailed as the world's first computer, could modern computers then be understood as the highest form of mechanical miniaturization? This parallel between tradition and innovation is also reflected in our organization's name:

Just as the Ginkgo—a tree from ancient times that thrives alongside the most modern plants—mechanical watches coexist with their much younger counterparts. This happens despite the notion that two things allegedly can never occupy the same space at the same time.

Tradition and Innovation

The evolution of the watch is a fascinating reflection of technological progress, unfolding within the tension between tradition and innovation. It's fitting that the very instruments we use to measure time are also ideal for gauging the pace of technological advancement itself.

Since antiquity, time has been measured in hours. In the Renaissance, precision extended to minute indications. Yet, only fifty years passed between the quartz watch and the atomic clock, during which precision increased by a staggering ten trillion-fold.

The miniaturization, which began with the first wristwatches, ultimately has shaped a present whose description makes any fairy tale seem pale, while the past itself has become a fairy tale—and rarely do we marvel at it sufficiently.

The design of Momentum I and the philosophy of our organization address this connection between tradition and innovation. With our commitment and our watches, we aim to create and transmit an anachronistic consciousness.

Legacy

As an organization, our goal is to foster the attitude that defines our development: to explore and solidify both traditional and uncharted paths.

To this end, we specifically promote traditional watchmaking. Simultaneously, we support experimental and forward-looking projects. With our brand, we also aim to culturally explore the enchanting duality of our time and, through our timepieces, place it into the hands of future generations.

Patent Policy

We aim to inspire and support. To this end, we openly share all Ginco Innovations with every independent watchmaker, inviting the community to further their development. Established brands, however, must integrate our patents into their portfolios through licensing, thereby empowering the very independent artisans who drive innovation.

A Catalyst for Change

Momentum I embodies our philosophy and is reserved for our greatest supporters. It is a strictly limited series whose true value cannot be measured in numbers alone.

Thanks!
